Snow Day, Hump Day

Colby Armstrong #9 Of The Toronto Maple Leafs Scores

I was at the Leaf game last night and was very happy that they got 2 points. But still was amazed with how many giveaways the Maple Leafs do every game. After Phil Kessel took that stupid penalty with 5 minutes left and the Panthers tied up the game, the leafs still gave up the puck a few times that almost led to a late goal.

It was nice to see Colby Armstrong score again in the shootout. A right handed shot going back hand is always hard to stop, so my Dad says.  Still it is kinda odd that the Leafs best sniper Phil Kessel doesn’t do the shootout more often.

Mikhail Grabovski scored his 21st of the year and is well on his way to his first 30 goal season. I am loving the way he is playing this year and it looks like the Leafs stole him from the Habs. The Leafs now just have to make sure they can lock up Clarke MacArthur for a few years to keep that line together.

Also it was announced that Mike Brown has signed a 3 year extension with the Maple Leafs. The 25-year-old Brown is in the final year of a contract that pays him $575,000. He’ll earn $760,000 next season and $725,000 each of the following two years. I think this is a great deal for the Leafs. Brown is a fan favorite here in Toronto for his hardnosed style of play, and for a middle weight tough guy, boy can he ever skate.

I also learned that you should never have Dwayne Roloson on the bench for your Fastasy team. My team really could have used that shutout he got last night.

Enjoy the snow  *snowball tossed at your head*
